Guanacaste Airport\u2014proud member of the VINCI Airports network\u2014has reached an exciting milestone: the arrival of its 15 millionth passenger since opening its new terminal in 2012. The lucky traveler? Jameka Johnson of Houston, Texas, who landed on Southwest Airlines flight WN4977 this past Tuesday afternoon\u2014on her birthday, no less!<\/p>\n
To mark the occasion, the terminal buzzed with live folkloric music and the signature warmth of Guanacaste’s hospitality. Jameka was surprised with an exclusive, sustainably crafted handbag made from retired airplane seat leather and fibers from pineapple leaves. This one-of-a-kind gift was designed by Costa Rican brand Wearsos<\/em> and hand-painted by Turrialba-based artist Fio Quir\u00f3s, featuring the olive ridley sea turtle\u2014an icon of Guanacaste Airport and a symbol of the region\u2019s adventurous spirit.<\/p>\n In addition to her eco-chic gift, Jameka received luxury welcome services courtesy of VPass<\/em>, as well as gifts from local travel companies. Visibly moved, she shared, \u201cI\u2019m super surprised\u2014and it feels amazing, especially because it\u2019s my birthday! Thank you for the celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n This landmark moment highlights the rising global appeal of Guanacaste as a premier travel destination.
