San Gerardo de Dota – Manuel Antonio – Arenal – Tortuguero
Day 1: Arrival at San Jose
Your private transport will pick you up at the San Jose Airport, and take you to your hotel. We recommend Park Inn Hotel.
Day 2: San Gerardo de Dota
Your private transport will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to San Gerardo de Dota, renowned for its lush cloud forests and wide variety of birds. Overnight stay in San Gerardo de Dota. We recommend Savegre Lodge.
Day 3: Quetzal Tour
Today, you will go into the depths of the cloud forest, on the Quetzal Tour, during which your guide will point out quetzal sightings, along with other beautiful birds.
Day 4: Manuel Antonio
Your private transport will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to Manuel Antonio, renowned for its white-sand beaches, lush green jungles, and wildlife. Overnight stay in Manuel Antonio. We recommend Parador Hotel.
Day 5: Manuel Antonio National Park
You will visit the Manuel Antonio National Park today, renowned for its pristine waters, white-sand beaches, lush green jungles, and wildlife. You can swim, relax on the beach, and hike through the park. You will be taken back to your hotel.
Day 6: Arenal
Your private transport will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to the Arenal region, known for its active volcano, scenic lake, lush rainforests, and adventure activities. Overnight stay in Arenal. We recommend Arenal Manoa Hotel.
Day 7 – A.M.: Arenal Hanging Bridges
This morning, you will first visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges, and go on a 3 km nature hike through the rainforest reserve.
Day 7 – P.M.: La Fortuna Waterfall Tour
In the afternoon, you will go through jungle trails, and visit the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall. You can rest, take photos or go swimming. You will be taken back to your hotel.
Day 8: Tortuguero
Your private transport will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to the Guapiles region in the Caribbean province of Limon. Here, you will take a shuttle to the coastal limits of the region, and then a boat transfer to Tortuguero itself. Tortuguero is renowned for its lush, green jungles, scenic canals, and incredible wildlife. Overnight stay in Tortuguero. We recommend Pachira Lodge.
Day 9: Tortuguero Canals
Today, you will explore the enchanting canals of Tortuguero. You can choose between early morning and afternoon Boat Tours of the canal, a nature-immersed delight. You will be taken back to your hotel.
Day 10: Return to San Jose
After breakfast, a boat transfer will take you to coastal limits of Tortuguero, from which you’ll take a shuttle to the town of Guapiles. You will have a delicious lunch there, before taking your private transport to San Jose. Overnight stay in San Jose. We recommend Presidente Hotel.
Day 11: Leaving Costa Rica
Your private transport will pick you up at your hotel, and take you to the San Jose Airport. Bid farewell to the Land of Pura Vida!
