Discover the South Pacific of Costa Rica

You know that whole “lost in the depths of the jungle amidst the wilderness” scene we have all been exposed to in adventure films? Well, the South Pacific of Costa Rica is precisely that! Beautiful, green, untouched, and wild, this region is the ideal location to leave your daily routines behind, and get fully immersed in nature & adventure.

The South Pacific of Costa Rica is home to the breath-taking Osa Peninsula, the ultimate tropical paradise. Among some of its most sought-after spots are Drake Bay, Corcovado National Park, Caño Island, Uvita, Marina Ballena National Park, Puerto Jimenez, and Matapalo Beach. Spectacular and diverse, each of these locations have something unique to offer visitors on their adventure.

Drake Bay is renowned for its one-of-a-kind jungle and ocean views. A small coastal community, it is the perfect destination for nature lovers seeking a remote, rainforest experience. Close by is the Corcovado National Park, the wildest natural reserve in the country. Overwhelmingly green, it provides absolute, unadulterated access to nature and wildlife. Visible from most points is the tropical Caño Island. Home to the most pristine, crystal-clear waters, it is one of Costa Rica’s premium scuba diving and snorkeling spots.

Uvita is a tiny, remote beach town that has become one of Costa Rica’s hottest, most trendy spots to visit. Aside from its scenic beauty, this is where humpback whales come to breed and give birth to their young. It is located just outside of the stunning Marino Ballena National Park, home to the famous Whale’s Tail beach formation – a gorgeous reserve where two beaches come together. It is home to over 350 species of birds and lush jungles galore.

Puerto Jimenez is situated in the scenic and serene Golfo Dulce, a stunningly beautiful tropical fjord. It has a population of about 9,000 people and is only major town in the region with access to essentials such as ATMs and gas stations. A charming, tropical town, it is home to some of the most spectacular tropical beaches, including Matapalo Beach, where the green of the rainforest meets the blue of the ocean – and crowds are nonexistent. Matapalo Beach is renowned for its waves, a surfer’s paradise!
